Adding servers to your favorites list and filtering servers are pretty straight forward through the server browser.
Adding servers to your favorites allows you to see filter out all other servers or notice the server easier in the server list.
Adding servers to your filters list is like the opposite of favorites. It allows you to filter servers out from your servers list.
If you have at least one server in your favorites or filters list, there is a toggle button on the filters menu that allows you to view filtered or favorite-only servers.
There are some key differences depending on whether you’re signed in or not.
When Signed In (User-Based)
- Both favorites and filtering lists are tied to the user account.
- This means these lists are synced between devices you’re signed into.
- When adding a server to your favorites, the server’s favorite count is increased.
When Signed Out (New Visitors)
- Both favorites and filtering lists are tied to a site cookie.
- This means both lists are tied to the web browser.
- If you switched devices/web browsers or clear browsing history, there’s a good chance this’ll be erased.
- I added this option for user convenience (not needing to sign in to use basic functionality like adding servers to your favorites or filtering servers).
- When adding a server to your favorites, the server’s favorite count is not increased. This is since we track favorite counts based off of user-side favorites for security reasons.
